Introduction to biofilms
Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceeding › Preface/postscript › Research › peer-review
Bacterial growth is characterized by two life forms, one being as single cells (planktonic) and the other being in sessile aggregates. The later is commonly referred to as the biofilm mode of growth. Many more or less divergent definitions of bacterial biofilm exist; all agreeing that biofilms are multiple bacteria in an aggregate.
